Interpreting Media VIA Neuro-Linguistic Programming
August 23rd, 2008 | 863 wordcountI found the following video I posted below on a forum, and it brought out a lot of good points about how the media loves to disprove and disrupt the truth or anything that they are told the public must not believe in.
I don’t believe everything that is said on the following video, for instance when the narrator says in the beginning of the first video that the news personality, Alan Colmes, is trying to use certain hand gestures to tell things to the subconscious minds of the audience while trying to scatter the person he is interviewing, that is something I don’t believe was done on purpose like the narrator seems to insinuate. However I do think it is something that we all do when trying to dismiss someone with hand gestures or glances. Natural body language in a way — all though I do believe that Alan Colmes was doing this subconsciously because he DOES have a mission to make the public dismiss the poor man who willingly came on this show — unknowingly into the lions den — who probably only wanted nothing but a “Fair and Balanced” interview.
Also when the narrator says at the end of the video that the second news personality, Sean Hannity, is using “sorcery” at the end I just sat there plain faced… Sorcery? Really? What is the narrator psycho? But I think that narrator is using the wrong word (at least, God I hope so) — a word that makes him sound nuts, to be honest — but I THINK I know what he means. When I was in one of my massage schools, we learned about a martial arts technique where you put your hand shaped as a loose or tight fist on a certain part of a persons chest and bring it down to their stomach. It’s actually a technique some cops learn as well when trying to bring someone down. Depending on how hard you go it can have varying effects - it could drop your energy or it could make you violently sick. It was done to me because I was curious if it worked and how, so that’s how I know. It has to do with chi, or your energy, or whatever the hell you want to call it. Either way, it works.
I believe that this could probably be done from a distance. There’s many ways to control a persons reactions or thoughts with certain body motions or tones of voice, without ever touching them. Even certain words can control an unsuspecting individual. I won’t say most people are too dumb to realize it, but they’re not aware enough. I’ve actually seen that happen before.
One powerful example: It was in a GED night class once with all people ranging from all ages, both genders, all races, etc. All of them were talking with one another — some came there after a hard days work, some after watching their kids all day, and some after who knows what else. They were just not focused for class, they were not ready, and they were chattering away. The teacher, who was smart in many ways and I’ll never forget as long as I live, made a very low persistent noise that not everyone picked up on consciously, but slowly the class just quieted down and sat there docile as can be. In mid sentence everything just died down slowly following that same rhythm of that quiet noise the teacher made, and it was a very subconscious thing as far as I could tell from everyone else’s slow unwinding reaction to it. But he had controlled the class subtly and unsuspectingly.
And I bet some of those people in that class (or in general) would never think that the news media would ever be biased and use this psychological warfare on them — but oh how wrong they are. That’s all the media is, is a psychological tool to control what you think and to give you nothing but a scattered, docile mind.
Watch the video below to get just a small glimpse of what I mean, and perhaps you’ll start paying more attention when not only watching the news, but also with dealing with people on a daily basis as well. It talks about people taking cheap shots in attempt to control you in an argument and being very petty when talking, trying to manipulate you and your reactions — probably to trip you up and frustrate you, I would think. This video shows Hannity and Colmes tones of voices and body language when dealing with this man, and the narrator dissects it for us. A lot of what he says is common sense, and you can see it a mile away.
Now there are three videos in this program, but I’m only posting the first one because I really don’t agree with a LOT of what he says in the second and third one. The narrator sounds kind of nuts in some of what he says, but in this first one he makes a LOT of good points. Or at least I agree with some of what he says enough to post this.
