Ritualistic

I was shown this about seven years ago before it had sound. It was awesome then, and now that it has sound it is even better.

The Kotel is obviously a pro Israel website (something I don’t hold against them), and while I am anti Zionist I find it amazing to watch to watch their three live webcams at the Western Wall. They could put a webcam in the busiest and oldest market place in Asian and I’d watch it for the culture and my own sheer fascination.

It’s also really interesting to see how on certain Jewish holidays they will all flock to the Western Wall and sing and praise in unison. You can actually HEAR it now as you watch it in real time. It’s something to take the breath away.

I wish I was there. Anything to get away from America and the general lack of culture we have here. I would love to just go to the Middle East or Egypt and just stay there to live.

Which I might actually have the opportunity to do, believe it or not. My aunt and I have been talking for MONTHS about going to Israel, a place she’s already been many times. We were talking about going to Jerusalem more specifically. I think she wanted to take me to Tel Aviv at first, but what’s there other then night clubs and shopping and a regular city?

I want the real culture, and the history (even though the Israel of today only has 50 years of history as it is not the Israel of the Bible — there is always Palestine and Ancient Israel). I want the sheep herders and the Dead Sea. I want the secluded tribes out in the desert. I want the real Twelve Tribes of Israel AKA the Ethiopian Jews.

I want the politics and to see the strife before my very eyes.

I once heard someone say that if you sneeze in Israel it is political. That sounds like my type of place.

But for now I’ll have to settle for The Kotels live Western Wall Webcam. It really is so interesting!!! That’s why I wanted to share it with you all.
