The pretenses for an i-Patriot Act are here!

September 15th, 2008 | 367 wordcount

I wrote about how it’s possible, according to Lawrence Lessig, a Law professor from Stanford University among other things, that there will be reason to create an version of the “Patriot Act” for our precious, almost free internet.

You can find what I wrote, as well as the original article, here: i-Patriot Act to follow an i-9/11 event.

Well now it appears that the U.N. has already started crying about what could go wrong on the internet if information is freely shared, according to Blueprint for nuclear bomb on internet, warns UN.

The article states: Libya received the blueprint for a nuclear bomb electronically, raising “serious concern” about the spreading of such sensitive material via the internet, the head of the UN nuclear agency has reported.

And also …

… Much of the sensitive information coming from the network existed in electronic form, enabling easier use and dissemination. …

You look at this and you see the fact that nuclear technology is falling into the wrong hands VIA the internet, but this information could have been shared through numerous methods, like “sensitive” information has for the past half a century, and not through the internet.

And, most importantly, of course, let’s not forget that anyone with a college level degree in physics and a library card could figure out how nuclear design works — and that this information has been out there for many different groups to get their hands on since World War 2.

Think outside the box, people. And while you’re at it, kiss the internet as you know it goodbye. Because these are the first stages of control for our internet. The U.N and the U.S government will use this and things like this to cry wolf, and what will most people do? Like sheep, they will run from one SUPPOSED danger to a very real, much more frightening danger. Utter loss of freedom.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin

Also, please remember, it’s one thing to KNOW how to make a nuclear bomb, but it’s another thing all TOGETHER to get the materials to make one. And those are things you can’t print out from your computer.
