Manchester being ‘bullied’ by Government into accepting road tolls.
November 19th, 2008 | 323 wordcountNothing ever comes free or cheap with the government, as we can see here with the UK.
According to the Times Online article about this, the UK government is pretty much blackmailing Manchester in pay-as-you-drive scheme.
According to the article: “The Government is threatening to withhold £1.5 billion of public funding for public transport in Manchester unless the city agrees to become a guinea pig for pay-as-you-drive road pricing.
Geoff Hoon, the Transport Secretary, said funding for new tram lines, extra buses and trains would be canceled unless a majority of Greater Manchester’s 1.8 million population voted “yes” in next month’s road pricing referendum. … ”
If they can do that in the UK, what makes you think they haven’t been doing it here? Or will not do it here?
It’s just what I talked about in my “ADHD and other problems - Could there be a natural cause?” post. Schools getting funded by the federal government for putting kids on pills.
And I quote:
“ … When a kid is on drugs in a school, the school gets the same amount of money they would for a child in Special Education - so if that school needs ten extra computers, what do they do? Put your son or daughter on a drug … ”
One may not be able to connect the dots here, but it’s easy to see what is going on. The government is running our lives with money. We don’t play by their rules, we don’t do what they want, then we don’t get their services. Sometimes those services aren’t even all that good, like a national health care system, but sadly the only solution for some people — because the government won’t put the money that they’re using ANYWAY in the pockets of the people to do what they want with, but instead telling them where to go, what to do, and controlling their lives.
And government control gets tighter.
This is why big government is the problem.
