What if Jesus was a Japanese rice farmer?

December 31st, 2008 | 340 wordcount

We’ve all heard many different stories and myths about Jesus that differ from the original Gospels of the Bible. He married Mary Magdalene and had a daughter named Sara being the most notable story about Christ that isn’t mentioned in the Bible.

Jesus’ crucifixion was still in that story, and this is why Mary and her unborn child had to flee to Egypt, and then later France, carrying the supposed “Blood Royal” — IE; Sara.

I’m not sure what I make of that story honestly, but it’s atleast more believable than what some people are believing in Japan.

According to some there are Japanese descendants of Christ

Instead of being crucified Jesus let his brother, Isukiri (such a Hebrew name, isn’t it?), take the fall for him while he fled to Shingo, Japan to grow rice, marry a local woman named Miyuko and have three daughters. Why is Jesus always stuck with daughters and never a son? Anyway, that’s besides the point.

This all came about when, in 1935, a Shinto priest came across a scroll near Ibaraki Prefecture that talked about all of this, and more, regarding Jesus and also identified Shingo as Jesus’ final resting place.

One man, Junichiro Sawaguchi, says that besides the scroll and other evidence that all of this is true he and his neighbors refer to Sawaguchi’s grandfather for further proof. According to the article about this “Mr. Sawaguchi’s grandfather stood out in the neighborhood for being tall and thin, completely the opposite of these sturdy mountain folk. But most tellingly, he had blue eyes, they say.”

Because we all know that Jesus was a pale, tall, blue eyed white man amidst all of the shorter, darker colored Middle Easterners, right?

Of course, while it’s no big deal to these Japanese Buddhists to be a descendant to the Christians Messiah (this is what they say) they are not above capitalizing from it. Shingo makes a profitable income from tourism alone to Jesus’ supposed resting spot. They sell chopsticks, postcards and even Tomb of Christ biscuits!!! Wonder if it tastes like death.

It’s my first day hearing it too. I wonder what other myths and legends are out there haha.

This is also the first I heard of it. And, do you know what? I find it commendable. At least this is BLATANT bastardization of the Christian faith, instead of the smug “reinterpretations” that are laden within most televangelists in America. This is at least creative and ostensibly ludicrous; as I see it, it’s no different than telling an entertaining story and being paid for it.

There could be a very real reason people think this to be honest. I have just discovered that a Lost Tribe of Israel found their way to Japan, and this is why there are some Hebrew traditions and whatnot that go along with the Shinto religion. I will post more on this soon on my blog.

i’m pretty sure he always gets daughters so his line can actually legitimately carry. in that jew faith, the lineage and jew-ness is carried through the female lines, not the male.

That’s true, I forgot about that for a minute. I have more to say about this soon, so come back!

But wait, if we go by that logic his supposed daughters by Miyuko won’t be Jewish or Hebrew at all.
