About

General: This is a site where I’ll be posting, as well as talking about various subjects, including, but not exclusively, New York City, movies, television, books politics, culture, society, my life and everything else in between. I’m going to do my best to string all of these subjects, as I believe that many of these things can be interconnected already if one just looks.

Why the name / url Ritualistic.org? There are a number of reasons. One of the many reasons is rituals of different origins are fascinating to me, whether they are religious, cultural, societal, superstitious, occultist or otherwise. I wonder how they started, how they’re interconnected with the world or group of people around them and their meanings to the people who practice them. I’m interested in how some rituals from one part of the world made it to the another and then shook it’s new destination. I’d like to know more about their deeper roles in this world. The symbolism of rituals is very interesting, as is symbolism in general. I’m interested in the psychological effects of rituals, wondering the effects it could have on an individual, and fascinated that the most primitive people to the most advanced seem to have rituals of some kind. I wonder about the similarities of these things and I’m interested in the hidden unconscious reasoning, and what this could mean on societies as a whole, how it effects them, how it molds and holds their collective ways of thinking. . .

Or, you know, it could just be a REALLY AWESOME DOMAIN NAME TO HAVE. Common sense, hello!?

A bit about me: I’m not really as contemplative as you’ve seen above (at least I try not to be), so please ignore all of that nonsense!~ Anyway My name is Concetta (pronounced Conchetta), but I am known mostly as Cetta / Cet (pronounced Settuh / Set) through out the internet, a nick name that was actually given to me by my friend Kat (hi Kitty!) when I was like, twelve. It stuck obviously because now I’m 22 and people all over the web are still calling me that.

I went to massage school — two actually (that’s a LONG story that involves a ton of nonsense that I’ll probably one day get into on this site) — and, with a lot of effort, I graduated from one of them. And when I say a lot of effort I mean textbook wise (learning anatomy and physiology is hard) — I’m pretty good with the hands on stuff. AWESOME even. When I give a massage people tend to get off my table (you dirty bastards) saying things like “that’s one of the best massages I’ve ever had” — and yes, I’m bragging. It’s my site, sue me. I’ve just always had a knack for massage and making people feel good with my touch ever since I was a child. I think it’s sort of a natural gift.

Anyway, even though I went to school for massage, and think it’s an awesome thing to know in general and do on the side, my true passion would be traveling and experiencing different cultures. I’d really like to go back college and be a sociologist/anthropologist, and go around the world studying tribes, other countries, different belief systems and different ways of living. Maybe this is why I love watching the Travel channel so much — ESPECIALLY Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. I totally agree with Zimmern that one of the best ways to experience a culture is through it’s culinary dishes, especially through local market places where there is just a BURST of different cultural delights. As a matter of fact I’ll probably have some pictures of different foods on here that I find and that I eat from the City and anywhere else (yes, I know, how very FAT of me!).

I also hope to finally one day grow the BALLS to write the two novels that have been swimming in and out of my head for YEARS now. Actually they’re so complex they’d probably be series. But you see, anytime I open WordPad and try to write them out — or at least begin to — all I see is nonsense and scrap the whole idea. Hopefully this site will give me some experience and some nerve to actually start them — and one day finish them.

Speaking of writing, I like to text base role play. I know, that’s very nerdy of me. Don’t like it though? Tough. I’ve been doing it since I was about 9, give or take a year. It’s actually very fun with the right group of people. But don’t worry, this’ll probably be one of the last mentions of it on this site (all though with me, you never know).

Also please note, I have very strong political opinions and theories, all of which you’ll probably get the pleasure to read through out this site — because I can never keep my mouth shut for too long about things I think or feel. I’m a strong libertarian (VERY laissez-faire) and I support Ron Paul and everything he stands for.

ANYWAY, moving on, I don’t think I have the best grammar (even though I read a ton), but I think I write clear enough for everyone to understand. But if you’re a grammar Nazi, or expecting something with a perfectionist, professional, impersonal touch and will be dissatisfied with anything else, go elsewhere —>.

And that’s pretty much it! OH, except for the fact I’d like to give a special thanks to my friend Matt who pretty much told me that my old “About” page SUCKED, which he was absolutely right, and that’s why this page probably has more information than anyone bargained for.

That’s all. Enjoy the site!

And please also note, this website is best viewed in Firefox, which is also just an excellent web browser to have in general.

Oh, one more thing, I also own the domain we-are-legion.net, and I’m kind of stuck on what to do with it right now, so if anyone has any ideas let me know! And if you don’t know where that’s from, aside from the whole demonic phrase from the Bible (and various movies), then you really need to get caught up on your internet culture.

And no, I will not sell it.
