One of the key reasons the US doesn't pull it's support out of Israel is because they're CRAZY, just a smidge crazier than we are, and THEY HAVE NUKES. We're the muzzle holding Israel back from using them. As well, it's too much of a hot spot for the US to make money, AND it is a base for support in an area that pretty much hates us.

The rest of this is to cetta's post...
As much as what is being done to the Palestinians in Gaza is compeltely deplorable, you obviously haven't researched much about who controls Gaza and what THEY stand for. Gaza is controlled by Hamas, elected by the people who stand behind them. Hamas puts their missile turrets and military posts directly in civilian areas, so that the damage done is greater. They themselves originally violated the cease-fire agreement between Israel & Gaza, and suspisciously most of their rocket fire attacks into Israel hit unoccupied schools. The death toll in Israel is at 4 or 5 people, while in Gaza it's in the hundreds. Sounds sketchy to me that Hamas mysteriously manages to keep attacking unoccupied buildings with rockets... Hamas just legalized crucifixion by the way =) They're almost entirely funded by Iran, go figure. There's a lot of forces at play here, and the Palestinians are caught in the cross fire.
To Brandon's comment: We did that to Iraq, and Iran, and look what it did to the PEOPLE of that country. They were unable to wage war, technically yes, but the PEOPLE of those countries hurt terribly.
Israel has nukes, and they aren't quite so adverse to using them as the rest of the world is. There needs to be some sort of outside control over them, or their nuclear weapons need to be taken away.
A trade blockade with Israel will only hurt the every day citizens of the country, it won't help stop their near rogue government. As well, if the US pulled their support out of Israel, Hamas and Iran would then go in and attack THEM, and the same thing happening to the Palestinians would happen to the Iraelis. It's a cluster fuck of problems, and there's no simple solution.

If the US pulled its support of Israel, both 'officially' and in selling them weapons (or anything defense related), you'd see the war in Gaza stop, as they'd now be very vulnerable [not having a major backer to protect them and ward off other nations from engaging them as they please.]

However, you won't ever see that happen. Partly because they work with us on defense related issues.

Alternatively, if any number of the other significant nations (russia, china, india) gave them a serious threat/warning, they'd have no choice but to re-evaluate their continuining war and violence in Gaza. This probably won't happen either, why?

None of those nations want to get into an even more polarized position with the US (and europe for that matter), because there's already enough tension and cold-warring (don't care if it isn't a word, I just made it up, it makes sense.)

Think of it this way, as a way of putting it into context...

It's kind of like two kids in a playground having a fight (albeit quite a serious one, as the deathtolls reflect irl), and while both 'kids' would love to get their parents or big brothers involved, those said parents/big-brothers aren't getting involved in any serious way. AND WON'T.
