It’s official. Everything I love no longer exists.
Freedom.
No censorship.
The government not babysitting us.
All of that = gone.
According to Theregister.co.uk they are going to “protect vulnerable and young people” against suicide sites.
That sounds harmless right? Even potentially good. Who wants pro suicide sites up for anyone to read and get the idea “hey, maybe I should kill myself”?
First of all, let me just say, I hope government officials read those sites and get those suicidal ideas (this is a statement produced from lack of sleep and not intelligence).
Second of all, while I PERSONALLY do not agree with suicide sites, I believe that “young people” should be PROTECTED BY THEIR PARENTS OR FAMILY and NOT the government.
Third of all, if you think it’s going to stop at suicide sites you are wrong.
According to the article “The body that looks most like an internet censor – the Internet Watch Foundation – is another non-statutory organisation, which has deliberately kept its remit very focused. Child porn, race hatred and criminally obscene material are the sum total of its interests, and as it told us last week, it is not interested in suicide - policing it, that is.”
To keep child porn off the internet is just common sense. However, race hatred? Can we define that term more clearly? What if it is my personal belief to harbor hate for a race?
I would be wrong, yes, but should I be censored?
It’s a slippery slope.
One minute we’re blocking out websites that say black people should be back on plantations or whatever (WHICH IS DISGUSTING AND RACIST) and the next minute we’re blocking out websites - as well as throwing the author in jail - for questioning the validity of the state of Israel, legal or Biblical, which it is neither, as well as the criminal acts of many Zionist Jews, calling it anti-Semetic.
Zionism, I should say, that many Jews question themselves:
Jews Against Zionism.
Jews Not Zionists.
Neturei Karta - Orthodox Jews United Against Zionism.
But I am getting off the topic here, as I usually do.
As for blocking out the criminally obscene? Can someone explain to me what that even means? If I post a story on the web that details some horribly gruesome act as part of my story, and I even draw pictures to SHOW the horrible act, is this something that will be censored?
Let’s take www.gurochan.net — DO NOT GO TO THAT SITE IT IS NOT SAFE FOR WORK AND IT IS HIGHLY DISTURBING. I’m serious. I looked at that site and I was disturbed for hours.
But let’s take it for example. Clearly some individuals like the content on that site. It depicts some of the most disgusting things I’ve ever seen. All drawn of course but really gross things. Women getting their eyes popped out and penises being inserted into the gaping hole and that’s not even the worst of it.
I don’t know who likes that and I don’t know why they like that. BUT WELCOME TO THE INTERNET.
There are alot of artists who draw that stuff and it has a HUGE fan base.
Would THIS be criminally obscene? It’s definitely obscene, and if the acts performed in the pictures were performed in real life it’d definitely be criminal.
The UK really needs to define what it means by criminally obscene because if it’s the things at www.goruchan.net (DO NOT GO THERE) or sites like them then the government is AGAIN walking a really dangerous and slippery slope into pure fascism with the internet.
Also I’d like to say once again that child porn is common sense to keep off the internet. But really, do you know how easy it is to get away with putting child pornography on the web? Every once in a while the government reports a major bust in the child porn industry, but for every bust there are ten more sites up.
Just remember folks: When the government wants to do something in terms of taking away your rights, they’ll always do it under the guise of “protecting children” so that people go along with it easier.
In my opinion the government should forget the “criminally obscene” - which is a really vague term - and policing what people think about other races or anything else and focus every single effort and all money just on catching child pornography sites. Not those who actually collect the porn - because really, what good would that do? It’s like going after small time drug users and dealers on the street instead of those that actually produce and move the product to get it into America. Like Colombian drug lords and the CIA.
Here are more “official” stories about what is going on:
Porn, abuse, depravity - and how they plan to stop it - I suggest you really, really read this one.
Date set for internet ‘obscene’ publications trial
Here is part 1.
BY THE WAY I REALIZE ALL OF THIS IS IN THE UK AND I AM IN THE UNITED STATES BUT REALLY PEOPLE, IT’S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT REACHES HERE IF IT HASN’T ALREADY.
